Those who are into hiking, mountaineering, mountain biking, horse riding and are eager to learn about the Bulgarian village life and traditions will also be pleased to discover that the Borovets region has a lot to offer!The Borovets Resort is the perfect base for exploring the gorgeous Rila Mountain range, the highest on the Balkan Peninsula and within southeast Europe with its giant – the Musala peak (standing at 2925 m). Many of its summits are close to 3000 m high. Rila (an old Slavic word, meaning "Water Mountain") looks like a rough sea of mountain ridges and peaks and boasts deep gorges with no less than 150 crystal clear lakes. Thanks to the mild winds coming from the Mediterranean Sea, the mountain has entirely unique vegetation. A big part of the Rila National Park is under the protection of UNESCO.

About Borovets and the region:
Borovets is conveniently located 72 km south from the Bulgarian capital Sofia (within a 40 -minute drive from the Sofia International Airport) in the imposing Rila Mountain. Nested on the northern slopes of the Mousala ridge in the eastern part of the Rila Mountain, Borovets is surrounded by vast pine woods. At 1390 m. above the sea level, the resort offers great conditions for winter sports in from the end of November until the end of March.  With a length of the skiable terrain around 50km, the highest ski run at an altitude of 2600 m, Borovets provides a thrilling winter adventure for the ski and snowboard fans. Out of ski season, the area is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful Rila Mountain. The thick pine forests here are excellent for summer hikes and the mountain air is crisp and refreshing.
As it is one of the oldest winter resorts in Bulgaria, Borovets has long traditions in catering for its guests. With a multitude of hotels of different category, various entertainment venues, and plenty of restaurants and bars that form a lively night life scene, Borovets is more than attractive destination all year round.

About the winter sports conditions and facilities:
There are excellent skiing facilities, ski runs and lifts, here, which provides the opportunity diverse winter sports to be  practiced: skiing, snowboarding, night-skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, ski jumps, ski-doo,  just to name a few.
The total length of the skiable terrain is 58 km. The ski runs vary in difficulty providing perfect conditions both for beginners and experienced skiers. Three ski centres cater for the there e skiing regions: Yastrebets,  Markudjik and Sitnyakov. The Yastrebets ski centre is the one with the best quality ski runs, where all winter sports competitions take place.
Usually, the winters in the resort are mild with lots of snow. The average temperature in January is 4.8ºC and the snow cover on the slopes normally lasts from December until April.

Day- to-day Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Bulgaria! Transfer from Sofia Airport to the Borovets Resort
Our representative will meet you at the Sofia Airport upon your arrival and escort you to the Borovets Resort. After a 40 - minute drive south from Sofia, you will be checked in and ready to start your beach vacation!

Day 2 - 7: The Borovets Resort
A day at your disposal to enjoy the ski slopes in Borovets .
You can make your vacation even more diverse by deciding on any of the suggested below ides for excursions and incentives in the Borovets Region!

Day 8: Goodbye Bulgaria!
Today after breakfast it will be time for us to say “Goodbye”. Transfer to the Sofia Airport. (B)
